Charles Raymond Gallagher, Jr. LUBBOCK- Charles Raymond Gallagher, Jr. was born to Charles Raymond Gallagher and Marguerite Murphy Gallagher on June 2, 1920 in Graham, Texas. He attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in June 1941 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He enlisted in the Navy the day after Pearl Harbor and served in the Pacific Theatre. He married Mary Ellen Byrne of Phoenixville, Pa. on Sept. 2, 1944. After the war Ray was active as an independent oil and gas operator for over 50 years in Texas and Louisiana. Ray and Mary have been active community members of St. John Neumann's Catholic Church. Ray is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Byrne Gallagher; his children, Susan Grey (Charles), Christine Seger (Michael), and Charles B. Gallagher (Adrienne); his grandchildren, Charles (Emily) and Edward Grey (Allison), Michael (Jennifer), Hilary Gravatt, and Andrew Seger (Kelsey), Brian Kate (Magdalen), and John Gallagher; his 13 great-grandchildren, Meg, Sara and Chase Grey, Morgan and Patrick Grey, Max, Jack, Ben, Lily and Tate Seger, Journey and Connor Gravatt, and Evie Seger. Memorial services will be held at St. John Neumann Church, 5802 22nd, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.
