Earl James Nicklas LUBBOCK- Earl James Nicklas, 81, passed away on July 8, 2014. Earl was born on Sept. 5, 1932, to Emma Richard and Arthur Nicklas in Oklahoma City, the eighth of nine siblings. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, attended the University of Oklahoma, and worked as a structural steel draftsman for Robberson Steel and W & W Steel. Earl married his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Burson who preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Chris of Lubbock, Greg and Matt of Arlington, Mitch of Denver; and daughters, Lisa Hiracheta and her husband, Bobby of Lubbock, Joan Downing and her husband, Steven of Lubbock, and Pam Lacy and her husband, Greg of Midland. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 11, with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Christ the King Cathedral. Burial will follow at Lubbock Cemetery. Requiescat in Pace.
