Erbie Mansel Conley LUBBOCK-Erbie Mansel Conley, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. A service to celebrate his life is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A graveside service will be held at Palms Memorial Gardens in Corpus Christi on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. Erbie Mansel Conley was born to Lonzo and Beulah (Mason) Conley on March 4, 1923, in Wilson, Okla. Following graduation from high school, Erbie served in the Army during WWII, during which time he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, a WWII Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars. He married the love of his life, Maizie Ruth (Tidwell) Conley, on July 11, 1961, in Laredo, Texas. Erbie worked as a car salesman in Alice, Texas, as well as owning his own roofing comapny in Corpus Christi, Geolight Roofing Company. Erbie went on to own and operate two other successful businesses as well, the Beauty Supply in Levelland, Texas, from 1972 to1976, and RDA Beauty Supply in Lubbock, Texas, from 1976 until he retired in 1998. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lubbock for the past ten years. Erbie was an amazing man who loved spending time with his family, friends, and his little dog, JoeB. Erbie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maizie Ruth Conley; his parents, Lonzo and Beulah Conley; a daughter, Darlene Wise; two brothers, Dee Conley and Glennis Conley; and two sisters, Mildred Stinnett and Ruby Conley. Survivors include two sons, Rusty Conley and wife Joey, and Dan Welch; two daughters, Stephanie Baker and Melissa Young; a son-in-law, Jeff Young; a sister, Elsie Stasny; nine granddaughters, Trisha, Chelsea, Shelbi, Taylor, Bryce, Charlsie, Kim, Crystal, Misty; and two grandsons, Jeffery and Sevan. Erbie's family would like to thank Accolade Hospice for their compassion during this difficult time, as well as Wilshire Place for the excellent care that their dad received during his residency.
