Frances Abigail Burton LUBBOCK-Frances Burton of Ransom Canyon passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the age of 84. She was born June 10, 1930, in Havana, Florida, to John Wesley and Daisy (Lashley) Faircloth. She was a veteran; she served in the Korean War as an ensign nurse in the U.S. Navy. On March 2, 1954, Frances married Willie Frank Burton; they were married until his death. She was a member at Shadow Hills Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Linda Williams (Billy) of Ransom Canyon, and Debra Burton of Moody; son, David Burton of Houston; brother, Emmitt Faircloth (Faye) of Arcadia, Florida; sister, Patricia Stanford (Ray) of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, Kristen Harper (Brian), Adam Meekins (Amanda), Cynthia Gump (Travis), Gary Burton and Lauren Martin (Travis); and four great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, John David Burton. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Combest Family Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Encounter at Shadow Hills with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
