Don was born on March 16, 1941, to the late Rayburn and Alvilda (Stewart) Brumley in Commerce, Texas. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era on the USS Conflict. Following discharge, he moved to Lubbock and worked as a mechanic for White Truck House. Over the years, Don drove a truck for Wylie Hudman, Robert Heath, and Jerry Judkins before starting his own company, Don Brumley Trucking until the late 80's. Don continued to work after selling his trucks and farmed for Marc Bristo and hauled cattle for H&H Farms and Wayne Harkey. Don worked hard his entire life, even until the day the Lord called him home. Don married Janice Bell on April 19, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev. He enjoyed fishing, working in his vegetable garden, and was an avid gun enthusiast. He attended Southcrest Baptist Church and was a member of the NRA. His often gruff exterior was coupled with a soft heart and a love for his family, children, and his country. Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Darrell Wayne Brumley; and two sisters, Lavern Heaton and Susan Jane Brumley. Survivors include his wife, Janice; two sons, James Brumley and wife, Veronica of Spring, and Eric Brumley and wife, Celeste of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Parker and Teagan Brumley; and a brother, Mark Brumley of Lubbock.
