Grady Jay LUBBOCK- Grady Jay, 84, passed away February 17, 2013. He was born February 9, 1929 in Lexington, Texas to Clifford and Minnie Lois Jay. Grady was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in both the US Navy and US Army. Grady is survived by his daughter, Vicki McBride, grandchildren, Jon Spurgeon and wife Melinda, expecting his first great grandson, Justin McBride and Jay McBride; son, Deryl Jay and wife Kandy, grandchildren, Jenny Turner and husband, Gregg, great-granddaughter Elliott and expecting a second great-granddaughter; John Jay and wife Ashley; Jeff Jay and wife, Julie; sister, Minnie Lois Boyd, Dorothy Jean Thaler; brother, Billy Jay; sisters-in-law, Shirley Tucker and Sandra Childers; and brother-in-law, Jerry Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVerne; and sisters, Rubye Schneider and Joetta Herklotz. Visitation will be today, February 19, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Pastor Richard Rush officiating.
