Howard Trent Crosby LUBBOCK- Howard Trent Crosby, 88, of Lubbock passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 with a smile on his face. He was surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Dec. 1, 1925, the son of William Henry and Martha Margaret (Trent) Crosby. He married his sweetheart Faye (Hulsey) Crosby on April 22, 1971 in Lamesa, Texas. Trent proudly served his country in the Navy from 1944 to 1946, serving in WWII. He was a 3rd class Gunner's mate. Trent was a hard working, wonderful man. He loved to tell jokes and you never saw him without a smile on his face, even when he was in pain during his last days here on earth. Trent had a generous heart and loved to donate to charities. His memories will live on and he will truly be missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Faye Crosby; three sons, Joe Beck, Randel Howard Crosby, and Jerry Beck; four daughters, Linda Kay Pearson, Jackie Lee Crosby, Sherry Lynn Crosby, and Kathy Farley; two cherished cousins, Winnie Dietrich and John Ed Trent; grandson, Ryan Scott, whom he raised since birth; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Those preceding him in death include his parents; one daughter, Karen Yates; and one granddaughter, Jamie Scott. A family visitation is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Dec. 23, 2013 at Sanders Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Association.
