Jack Ed Cummings LITTLEFIELD- Jack Ed Cummings, 85, of Littlefield died June 28, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Littlefield with Dr. Brian Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Jack was born in Wellington, Texas to the late Ed Frank and Harriett Cummings. Before graduating from the University of Texas in Civil Engineering, Jack married Elizabeth Schovajsa from Amherst, Texas. He began his career with the Gulf Oil Company and after a couple of years in Texas, they moved to Venezuela. When they returned to the United States, he worked for a defense contractor and retired in 1994. In retirement, he wrote the newspaper column Do You Remember? for the Lamb County Leader. Jack is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of 60 years; his two daughter, Cheryl Hymes and her husband Alan; his daughter, Linda Kobe and her husband John; a son, Frank Cummings and his wife Barbara; grandchildren, Jennifer Percival and her husband John, Rachel Greely and her husband Joseph, Matthew Kobe and his wife, Rachael; great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Jackson Percival; his brothers, Joe Cummings and wife Pat, and Logan Cummings and wife Kaye; and a sister, Sharon Cummings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Open visitation will be at the funeral home today until 8 p.m.
