James Earl Embry IDALOU- James Earl Embry of Idalou went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born in Duncan, Okla. to B.C. Barney and Viola (Cross) Embry. James married the love of his life, Ruby Amerson on June 19, 1954 in Idalou. They have been married 58 years. While serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War he received a purple heart. James was a caregiver and cotton farmer for Mrs. Knowles and her daughter, Lizzy Peak until their death. He continued to farm the land until he retired in 1997. James was a deacon at the Idalou Church of Christ. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Ruth Ann Bell and husband Michael of Ft. Worth; two sons, Jimmy Embry and wife Yancey of Idalou, and Michael Embry of McKinney; one brother, Charles Embry of Arkansas; one sister, Charlene Jones of Lubbock; and six grandchildren, Heather, J. J., Amanda, Landon, Callie and Claire. James was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Magenta Hines and Virginia Diamond. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Idalou Church of Christ with Les Carey and David Burton officiating.
