Jimmy Ray McMillan TAHOKA-Jimmy Ray McMillan, 76, passed away at home on March 3, 2014, after a lengthy illness. He was born on Feb. 24, 1938, in Tahoka, Texas, and worked at Lyntegar Electric for 34 years until he retired in the year 2000. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Tahoka where he served as a volunteer fireman, was a member of Lion's club, and was also elected city councilman. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janey; sons, Dennis and Kurt; daughter, Kimberly Harris; eight grandchildren (one deceased); and sisters, Katie Akin and Linda Markum. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee McMillan, Ella Marie McMillan, and Nell Pearson; brothers, Edward, HL, Carl Henry, and Jerry. Services will be at Sweet Street Baptist Church, 1300 Ave J, in Tahoka, Saturday, March 8th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the City of Tahoka Volunteer Fire Dept.
