Joyce Scott Sprawls LUBBOCK - Memorial Services for Joyce Scott Sprawls will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16th, 2013 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with Marcus Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 15th, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Joyce went to be with her LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST on Mother's Day, May 12th, 2013. Joyce was born April 16, 1936 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Charles Dale and Velma Scott. She graduated from East Lansing Michigan High School in 1954 and attended Michigan State University for one year. After living in Manila Philippines for 18 months, she attended Texas Tech University for a year. She married Alton B. Sprawls on July 6, 1961. She was employed by Read and Company Insurance for 4 years and Texas Tech University for 4 years. She was also employed by the Texas Department of Highways from September, 1967 until she retired in August, 1995. Survivors include her husband of over 51 years; her sons, Dale Scott Sprawls and David Wayne Sprawls; and one granddaughter, Hayden Sprawls. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale Edward Scott. Pallbearers will be: Dick Milam, Mark Murdoch, Steve Brock, Larry Vialle, Nelson Parsons, Tom Saroch, and Jim Latch.
