Kenneth Ray Harris LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Kenneth Ray Harris, 56, of Lubbock this evening, Feb. 28, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Celebration services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Highland Baptist Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Feb. 25, 2014. Kenneth was born on Nov. 12, 1957, to the late Wayland and Evelene Harris in Muleshoe. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1976 and married Charlotte Templar on Feb. 21, 1981, in Lazbuddie. He owned Kenneth Harris Trucking for several years before pursuing his lifelong dream of law enforcement and enrolling in SPAG. After graduation from SPAG, Kenneth worked for Bailey County Sheriff's Office from 2001-2004. In 2004, he moved to Lubbock and worked for Lubbock County Sheriff's Office for the next ten years. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and the Texas Police Officer Association. Kenneth was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and was a very skilled wood worker, spending many hours in his shop. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; a son, Clifton Harris and wife Kimberly of Sudan; a daughter, Kelli Harris of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and four sisters, Sharon Williams of Shallowater, Cindy Cargile of Lockhart, Marilyn Young and husband James of Plainview, and Denna Bass and husband Scott of Plainview. Memorials are suggested to Casa of the South Plains. To share in the celebration of Kenneth's life, visit www.memorialdesigners.net.
