Kennith Gerald Hurley QUITMAN-Kennith Gerald Hurley, 87, of Quitman, TX passed away Aug. 22, 2014. He was born Oct. 18, 1926, to Carl and IV Hurley in Yantis, TX. He graduated from Yantis High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, 1945-46, Korean War. With the help of the GI Bill, he earned his Bachelor or Arts/Business degree from North Texas State University in Denton, TX. He had a successful thirty-two year career with Aetna Life & Casualty, retiring as Regional Claim Manager. Ken was a lifelong Texan who loved country life and cattle ranching. His zest for both brought him to East Texas in 1996. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his home and family, friends, and living in Quitman, TX, until the end of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Edna Mae Jungbecker Hurley; two daughters, Carolyn Hurley of Quitman, and Marilyn Lambert and son-in-law Lonnie Lambert of Garland; two grandsons, Adam Lambert and wife Katie of Houston, Ryan Lambert and wife Holly of Houston; brother, Phil Hurley of Hawkins, and brother, Marcus Hurley and wife Donna Hurley of Frisco; sister-in-law, Elvera Huff of Longview. He is also survived by nephews, Scott Hurley, Preston Huff, Clifford Huff, and nieces, Rhonda Hurley, Sherri Hurley, April Hurley, and Lisa White Kelly. Visitation will be at Lowe Funeral Home, 1102 E Goode Street, Quitman, Sunday, Aug 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 406 E Lane Street, Quitman, followed by a graveside service with full military honors at Yantis Cemetery, Yantis, TX.
