Lewis Welch DENVER CITY-Funeral services for Lewis Elmo Welch, 81, of Denver City will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the First United Methodist Church in Denver City with Reverend Harold Brown officiating, assisted by Reverend Chris Seaton. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Lewis was born on Aug. 22, 1931, in Wright City, Okla. to Thomas & Sally Welch. He graduated from high school in Wright City. Lewis married Louise Smith in Lovington, N.M. on September 8, 1956. He worked for the City of Denver City as a Public Works superintendent until retiring. Lewis was a member of Felker Free Will Baptist Church in Vallant, Okla. He was a Denver City volunteer fireman and fire chief, and was also an arson investigator before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Sally Welch; his brother, Theodore Welch; his sister, Tommie Davis. Lewis is survived by his wife, Louise Welch of Denver City; his son, Randy Welch and his wife Mitzi of Denver City; three brothers, Clifford Welch of Duncan, Okla; Joe Welch of Tawakoni; Donald Welch of Arlington; two grandsons, Brian and his wife Rachel of Denver City, Chance Welch & his wife Stormy of Denver City; a granddaughter, Nikki Sheppard & her husband Tommy of Midland; a great-grandson, Brayden Welch of Denver City; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Woods & Maisley Welch of Denver City.
