Phillip Dwayne Hisey LUBBOCK-Phillip Dwayne Hisey passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at UMC Hospital in Lubbock. He was 62 years old. Phil was born on Dec. 31, 1951, to his parents, Tommy and Fay Hisey. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master's Degree. Phil was formerly employed by the Lubbock ISD as a physical education teacher for children with special needs. Phil loved working with this special needs group and was heavily involved with Special Olympics. He was recognized by the state Special Olympics Organization in October 2000 with the Tom Landry Award for his work and service. Phil married Joreferlocel Anciado Hisey on Jan. 28, 2005. They have two wonderful daughters, Mariah, 8, and Madison, 5. Phil was a wonderful husband and father. Phil is also survived by his brother, Greg Hisey; his mother and father-in-law, Ana and Rogelio Anciado; two uncles; and an aunt; 11 cousins; seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the New Horizon Baptist Church in Lubbock. There will be a visitation Tuesday evening, June 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sanders Funeral Home. The family suggests any memorials be made in his name to the New Horizon Baptist Church at 2805 98th St., Lubbock, TX.
