Rosa Elva Rosie Casarez PLAINVIEW-Rosa Elva Rosie Casarez, 57, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. David Azam officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Mrs. Casarez was born on Oct. 28, 1955, in Olton, Texas, to Elias and Dora Martinez. She married Jose Casarez on Dec. 29, 1971, in Olton. Mrs. Casarez was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to serving others. She unselfishly helped those in need at any given time without thought. Mrs. Casarez supported many organizations and causes including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled Veterans, paralyzed veterans, Easter Seal, and H.S.U.S. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Dora Martinez. She is survived by her husband: Jose Casarez of Plainview; one daughter: Sonia Quintanilla and husband Tom of Plainview; one son: Joe Casarez Jr. of Plainview; one brother: Hector Martinez of Olton; and three grandchildren: Brandon Rangel, Faith Quintanilla and Christopher Casarez.
