Skip Watson LUBBOCK- Skip Watson passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 68 years on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church. Skip was born on Feb. 8, 1945 to Claude and Arcelia Watson in Trinidad, Colo. On Oct. 16, 1970 Skip married the love of his life, Cindy. He was employed by KCBD from the late 70's as an investigative reporter, and later became the News Director and founder of the U Can Share Food Drive. In 1992, Skip left the television station and went to work for LISD as the Public Information Director until retiring in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Cindy; their children, Kelly Jenkins and husband Michael, and Kevin Watson and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Courtney and Caeden Jenkins, and Brady and Boene Watson; and siblings, Anita Lopez and Rick Greer. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcomed and the family suggests donating to the South Plains Food Bank. These donations can be made at any City Bank location in memory of Skip Watson.
