Sue Standefer Clendenin LUBBOCK-Sue Standefer Clendenin was born in Lubbock, Texas, on Oct. 18, 1925, to Dr. and Mrs. Fred W. Standefer. She passed away March 14, 2013. She attended Lubbock High School and went to Hockaday before graduating from the University of Texas in 1946 with a degree in anthropology. There Sue met Jack B. Clendenin, and married on June 1, 1946. They resided in Nachez, Miss., before moving to Amarillo, Texas, where Jack was engaged in a retail shoe business. Seven years later, they moved to Lubbock, Texas, and had two children, Michael and Carol. Sue was actively involved in the Methodist Church, Junior League, Well Baby Clinic, Lubbock Duplicate Bridge Club, and many children's activities. She was an avid sports fan. Sue is survived by Jack Beale Clendenin, her husband of 67 years; her two children, Michael Clendenin and his wife Vicki, and Carol Snider and her husband Ron; five grandchildren, Christopher Snider and his wife Marsha, Andrew Clendenin, Megan Lowe and her husband James, Josh Clendenin and his wife Alexis, and Katie Clendenin; and five great-grandchildren, Eli Lowe, Jackson Clendenin, Charlotte Lowe, Ella Clendenin and Stana Lowe. A memorial service was held at New Braunfels Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m., March 15, 2013. She will be interred at a later date in Lubbock.
