Alex J. Clark, 91, of Lufkin, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was born in Priddy, Texas on February 18, 1923. He grew up in Odessa with his four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his sister, Recie, his wife of nearly 60 years Helen, and his three children. His eldest daughter Sherry Jones of Richmond, Texas; son, Jeffrey Clark of Lufkin, Texas; and youngest daughter, Lisa Aycock of Wells, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He also served as a civilian contractor for the Army Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his career in the oil field and heavy equipment with LaTourneau where he travelled extensively around the world. He lived most of his adult life in Texas, with short periods in Tennessee and Scotland. Alex was known for his generous and gentle nature, story-telling abilities, and his love of animals. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Cushing; and during the last years of his life a member of the Believers Bible Church in Lufkin.
