Dr. George W. Beeler Jr., 64, of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1949 in Texas City and was a graduate of Texas A&M University. Dr. Beeler had owned and operated Houston County Veterinary Hospital in Crockett for over 38 years. He had previously served as President of Elkhart Farmers Co-op Association, President of Valley Condominium Association, Red River, New Mexico and Board Member of Houston County Hospital District. He is survived by wife, Barbara Crow Beeler; son, George W. Beeler III; sister and husband, Melissa and Charles Daniel; sister and husband, Mary Blake and Charles Meadows; niece and husband, Meredith and Michael Tabor; niece and husband, Mary Blake and James Vint; Nephew, Paul Daniel. Preceded i death by parents, Dr. and Mrs. George W. Beeler. Funeral services for Dr. George W. Beeler, Jr. will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Crockett with Rev. Jim Tom Ainsworth officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home in Crockett. Pallbearers include Kevin Maxwell, Paul Craycraft, Dr. Don Goodman, Dr. Carlos Bonnot, Ray Polk and Alan Crow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kalin's Center, P.O.
