Funeral services for Glenn Travis 'Punk' Harrison, 83, of Etoile, will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Jackson, Brother Jason Richards, Brother Bob Killiam and Tim Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Mr. Harrison born June 2, 1929 in Bolland, Texas. He died Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Harrison was a retired truck driver for DSI Transport in Beaumont. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening/farming. He also loved 'tinkering with things,' which usually involved building and welding. Mr. Harrison was a wonderful husband for 62 years, and he loved life. He served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Harrison was a member of Shirley Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jo Harrison of Etoile; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Harrison of Cypress, Wendell and Cindy Harrison of Port Neches, Tim and Sabrina Harrison of Baytown, and Greg Harrison and Trish Malone of Cypress; sisters, Lola Hanchey and husband Jeff of Huntington, and Emo Jean Walters of Huntington; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Callie (McClure) Shofner; father, Jewel Harrison; stepfather, Loy Shofner; sisters, Billie Jean Nerren, Loy Beth Murphy, and Norene Berry; and brother, Rayford Harrison. Pallbearers will be Tim Harrison, Travis Harrison, Cory Harrison, Travis Nerren, Mark Berry and Franklin Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Green, Ricky Burnaman, Terry Burnaman, Carl Burnaman, Brian Burnaman, E.B. Berry, Jace Berry, James West, Carl Basey, Mike Chisholm and Ronnie Marcatel.
