A memorial service for Kenneth L. Winterfield will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Henderson Chapel at First United Methodist Church in Lufkin with the Rev. Nick Sholars and the Rev. Bryan Diffee officiating. Mr. Winterfield was born September 18, 1935 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Leonard and Emma (Jaycox) Winterfield. He died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lufkin. Mr. Winterfield was a member of First United Methodist Church since moving to Lufkin in 1965. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa. He was an active member and current president of the Lufkin Evening Lions Club. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Gretchen and Bryan Diffee of Star City, Arkansas, daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Chad Cates of Lufkin, daughter and son-in-law Erika and Shane Yocom of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Steven, Bradley, and Hannah Diffee and Carson and Cayden Cates. Mr. Winterfield was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley Winterfield; and special friend Marilou Griffith.
