Homegoing services for Mrs. Lovie Carrie (Moore) Lane, 94, of Lufkin, will be conducted November 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1519 Williams St. Lufkin, Texas. Bishop Oscar Dixon Jr. and Evangelist S. Davis will be officiate. Burial will follow in Pineflat Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Tx. Visitation will be Friday at Tims Funeral Home, 222 Leach St., Lufkin, Tx. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. Lane was born April 13, 1919 in Nacogdoches County. She went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Woodland Heights Hospital with her family. She received her Masters of Education from Texas College in Tyler, Tx., then she began her career as a public school educator in Shelby County, Nacogdoches County and Nacogdoches, Tx. She retired from Lufkin Independent School District. Mrs. Lane joined Goodwill Baptist Church, Pineflat, at an early age. Alter moving to Lufkin she joined New Zion Baptist Church and in her later years became a member of Overcomers Through Faith Ministries. Her affiliations are: Delta Sigma Theta, Top Ladies of Distinction, Lufkin Classroom Teachers' Association, National Education Association of Retired Teachers, ARD, Special Olympics, Community Action Nacogdoches INC. Mrs. Lane is survived by: Daughters: Jewel Washington, Sybrenna Davis and Lula Bell Lane. Son: Cleveland O. Lane Sr. (Cheryl) Sister: Gladys Baker; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Play Sister/Assistant Mom: Janie Maiden and a host relatives and friends.
