Funeral services for Robert Wiatt, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, 5 p.m., Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine. Mr. Wiatt was born March 26, 1926, in San Augustine to the late Floyd and Claribel (Chappel) Wiatt. He entered into rest in Lufkin, Texas on July 10, 2014. He served in the U.S. Army where he earned a bronze star. He worked offshore on oil drilling vessels in the North Sea. He then became a heavy equipment operator doing road construction. He is survived by his wife, Lorine Wiatt of Lufkin; daughter, Kathy (John) Vick of Roanoke; son, Donnie (Karen) Wiatt of Chireno; grandchildren, Keith (Lane), Shane (Amanda), Ashley; Chelsie (T.J.), Austin, Chase; great-grandchildren, Kelsea, Lane, Hunter, Adrianna, Autum; sisters, Roxie Bryan of San Augustine, Johnnie (Lyle) King of Illinois. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Patricia Wiatt and Janis Lawhorn; brother-in-law, Kellie Bryan.
