Domenic J. D.J. Guerrieri, 86, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in the VNA Hospice House of St. Lukes in Bethlehem. He was the husband of M. Josephine (Guarino) Guerrieri for 60 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Michele and Rocchina (Simonelli) Guerrieri. D.J. honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked in the Weldment Shop, then later as an EMT for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., for 36 years, until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, and was currently a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. D.J. was also a member of the Hellertown American Legion Post #397, MORA Club, Bethlehem Chapter of UNICO, Heights A.A., and the First Windish Society. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Josephine; are daughter, Mary Jo McGettigan and her husband, Kenneth, of Wexford and their children, Matthew and his wife, Nicole, and Colin; brother, Arthur Guerrieri and his wife, Mary; sister, Gertie Brita all of Bethlehem; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Carmen, Anthony, Virginia LaSorsa, and Violet Wood. Services: A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m., in the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, followed by a noon Mass of Christian Burial at. St. Anne Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave., Bethlehem. Interment with military honors will follow the Mass at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Online condolences at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
