Donald L. Bergstresser, 68, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Manorcare Health Care in Allentown. He was married to Jennifer Bergstresser for over 19 years. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Margaret (Miller) and Harvey Francis David Bergstresser. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and also worked as a tugboat mechanic. He later worked as a mechanical engineer for Drager Medical, retiring in 2009. In his retirement, he also worked part time at the Tractor Supply store in Trexlertown. Don was an avid deep sea fisherman and Harley rider, and was a member of the Warrior Watch Riders. He loved his gardens, and raised prize-winning hot peppers and canned goods. Survivors: In addition to his wife Jennifer, he is survived by a son, Brendan Bergstresser of Allentown. Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, in the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, where friends may call from 5:00 PM until time of services. Burial will be private. During such grievous times words seem to be of little comfort. Our Heavenly Father who created us, has the desire and the ability to undo the effects of death. At Hosea 13:14 he promises to empty the graves of our loved ones. Our tears of pain will be replaced with tears of joy! My hope is that God will strengthen you, and give you a measure of comfort and peace until His promise is realized.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how much pain your family and friends are going through. I can remember the day I lost both of my grandparents . So painful. However I was really encouraged by one of the many promises that are found in gods word, at (John 5:25-28) it gives us hope. If you are a person of faith I know that you know God keeps all his promises. May this bring you a measure of hope as it did for me. My condolences.
