Foster F. Frable, Sr.
Foster F. Frable, Sr., 98, of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, in Kirkland Village. His wife of 67 years, Beatrice (Reiss) Frable, died in 2011. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Adam Q. and Mary (Borger) Frable. A graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem Business College, and Penn State University, he began his career in 1934 with Weston Dodson, which later merged with Lehigh Coal and Navigation. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1979 after 45 years in the coal industry. Mr. Frable was a member, former elder, and Sunday school superintendent of St. Thomas United Church of Christ. A 32nd degree mason, he was a member and past master of H. Stanley Goodwin Lodge, and past president, secretary, and treasurer of Bethlehem Rotary Club, where he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a former scoutmaster in the Minsi Trail Council. Survivors: Son, Foster F. Frable, Jr. of White Plains, NY; grandchildren, Steven and Merrilee. Services: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 1, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by interment in Bethlehem Memorial Park.
