Gary L. Weatherby, 63, of Bethlehem, PA died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Hospice House of St. Lukes in, Bethlehem. Born May 5, 1950 in Fountain Hill he was the son of the late Mildred (Kurtz) and Leonard Weatherby. Gary served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the Marines he worked for Bethlehem Steel for 10 years. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 30 years of service. He also worked as a high school basketball referee in the valley. Gary was an avid golfer and a member of the Roosevelt Democratic Club, North End Wanderers and the Heights Athletic Association. Survivors: Gary is survived by his sons, Todd Weatherby and Brad Weatherby. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene James Weatherby; and sister, Joan Weatherby. Services: A viewing will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park, in Bethlehem, PA.
