Christman, James P.James P. Christman, 88, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Lois Virginia (Bradley) Christman. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2014. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul D. and Marian (Knerr) Christman. James served in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the body shop foreman and the new and used car prep supervisor at Ruhe Oldsmobile for 23 years before retiring in 1988. James also worked for the Allentown School District for many years. He was a member of Jordan U.C.C., Allentown, where he was a member of the cemetery association and the bible study group. He was a member of the former Trinity U.C.C., Allentown, where he served as a deacon and an elder. Mr. Christman was also a member of the former Boulevard E.C. Church where he served as a Trustee. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Jordan-Martin Lodge #673 F. & A.M. and was a Past Master (1980) of Jordan Lodge. James was also a member of Lehigh Consistory. He was a member of T.P.A., the M.O.R.A. Club and was a 25 year member of American Legion Post #576, all in Allentown. James was a volunteer at Phoebe Home since 1988. Survivors: Wife; Sons: James W. and his wife Dawn, Daniel R. and his wife Karen, all of Allentown; Daughter: Sheryl D. and her husband Harry Palm of Harrisburg; Grandchildren: 6; Great-grandchildren: 11. James was predeceased by his sister Joyce Roth. Services: Masonic Service at 10:30 am Thursday, followed by the funeral service at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown.
