John Harris Adams
John Harris Adams of Allentown, PA, passed away quietly with his loving family around him after a valiant effort against cancer. He was the husband of Patricia Adams with whom he had a true love affair for 40 years. John was born on January 12, 1943 in Peru, IN, to Robert W. and Jane H. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent 13 months in Vietnam with Delta Co. 1/7 and 3rd Battalion 11th Marines of the 1st Marine Division. Leaving the Marine Corps as a 1st Lieutenant in 1970, he went to work with McCord Corporation in New Jersey. John was a member of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors and NJ Chapter President in 1991, Industrial & Office Real Estate Brokers Association, NY Metropolitan Area, and a Vice President of the A.R.C. of Essex County. His love of cars and motor racing led him to over 25 years of owning and racing automobiles. His pride and joy was #36, a 1969 Titan MK5 Vintage Formula Ford which he raced at all the famous road courses in the U.S. He was a member of Sport Car Club of American (S.C.C.A.), the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (S.V.R.A.) and the Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association (V.S.C.D.A.) John will be remembered for being a man of his word, as well as his calm and patient personality and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
