John H. Angstadt, 90, formerly of Emmaus, died October 31, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Diane F. (Diefenderfer) Angstadt. Born in Gauffs Hill, he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Mary A. (Scholl) Angstadt. John attended Penn State University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Emmaus. He was a former member of the Emmaus Lions Club, the Engineers Club of the Lehigh Valley, was a Board member of Northwood Cemetery, and volunteered for many organizations during his retirement. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII, earning a purple heart. Survivors: Wife; son, Michael J. Angstadt and wife, Jan, of LaGrange, GA; daughter, Susan J. Angstadt-Sullivan of Quakertown; brother, Richard A. Angstadt of Tucson, AZ; sister, Barbara R. Kinkle of DE; five grandchildren and husbands, Cori and Steven Cambre, Cailin and Scottie Allen, Greta and Patrick Cork, Joanna Angstadt of GA, and Emily Sullivan of Quakertown. Services: Memorial services Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 11 a.m., in St. Johns Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Private interment with military honors will be in Northwood Cemetery.
