John F. Grim
John F. Grim 72, of Lower Macungie Township, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 in his home. John was the husband of Chiyo T. (Tsukiyama) Grim and they celebrated their 46th anniversary this past May. Born in Allentown, John was a son of the late Francis E. and Catherine R. (Murtaugh) Grim Sr. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. John worked for the Morning Call for 35 years. Starting in 1969, John started as a copy editor, and eventually became the assistant managing editor prior to his retirement. Before his employment with the Morning Call, John was an editor and reporter for the Morning Star in Okinawa, Japan. Survivors: Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Catherine R. wife of Anthony R. Werley of Mertztown; brothers, Thomas E. and his wife Karen of Allentown, and Francis E. Jr. and his wife Jean in Whitehall. John has one grandson, Sean G. Werley. Services: Will be on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the ODonnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., Allentown. A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
