John J. McCarty
John J. Jack McCarty, 89 years, of Catasauqua died Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Whitehall Manor, Whitehall. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Charles and Ellen (Reagan) McCarty. Jack retired from the Catasauqua Post Office May 30, 1978 and was a partner in McCartys Farmer Hotel of Catasauqua. He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School class of 1941, a WWII Army veteran, a 39 year member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church of Catasauqua. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the Poconos and he enjoyed celebrating St. Patricks Day with a green beer in one hand and his Boom-Ba in the other. Survivors: Surviving is nephew, John (Sam) McCarty and his wife Nancy; nieces, Margaret McCarty and Kathleen wife of Joseph Billie; great-nephews, Juddson Billie and his wife Melissa and Patrick McCarty and his wife Margy; great-nieces, Erin Light and her husband Jeremiah, Katie Titano and her husband Thomas, Meaghan Buck and her husband Jason; great great-nephews Dominic Titano and Gavin Light; great-great-nieces, Kendall Billie, Shannon Light and Sophia Titano. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis McCarty and Charles McCarty; and sister-in-law, Margaret S. McCarty. Services: Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday December 1, 2012 in St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church Second and Chapel Streets N.Catasauqua.
