Kenneth Hoffman
Kenneth Marlin Hoffman, 72, of Mooresville, NC passed away January 20 due to injuries suffered after being struck by a van. He was the patriarch of his family, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was born to the late Gordon F. Hoffman and Martha Shadel, April 8, 1941, in Harrisburg, PA. Ken graduated from Allentown High School in 1959. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and a MS in Engineering Mechanics from Lehigh University. Ken spent over thirty years as an engineer for IBM until his retirement.Ken enjoyed gardening, painting, woodworking and projects around the house. He was a certified SCUBA diver and enjoyed diving with his son and daughter-in-law in the Caribbean. He enjoyed travelling and went on cruises with his family and brother. He just returned from a trip to Atlantis with Katherine and Kate. Most of all, he loved spending time with his granddaughter and best buddy Kate, coaching her in softball and attending Hickory Crawdads baseball games. Survivors: Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years, Katherine Marie Herman; and his four children: daughter, Vic Mills and husband Todd of Troutman, daughter, Sharon Keiser and Vincent Centro of Troutman, son, Robert Keiser and wife Debbie of Weddington; and their sons, Ford and Evan; daughter, Kelly Hoffman and Windell Henley of Mooresville; and their daughter, Kate. He was predeceased by his sisters, June Rose Tulley and Constance Wise. He is survived by his brothers, Wayne Hoffman Coopersburg, PA and Tim Hoffman of Allentown, PA. Services: The family celebrated Kens life in a private ceremony on Saturday at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
