Margaret Sillers Martin
Margaret Sillers Martin, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed on January 15, 2014 at St. Lukes Anderson Campus. Born in Lehighton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William C. Sillers and Rose B. Beck Sillers. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert, who passed in 1980, as well as a sister, Dolores, who passed in 1928. Margaret was a graduate of Phillipsburg Catholic High School, Georgian Court College in Lakewood, NJ with a B.S. in Music and New York University with an M.A. in Personnel and Guidance. She was a teacher in the Phillipsburg School District for 46 years, Chairperson of the PHS English department, Chairperson of the PHS Special Education department. She was a member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg, a life member of the Catholic Daughters of America, NEA, NJEA, AAEW, Warren County Retired Educators Association, Phillipsburg Retired Women Teachers, Phillipsburg AARP, and the Sunny Seniors. Survivors: Margaret is survived by nephews; nieces; cousins; and close friends. Services: A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m., at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A calling hour will be held in the church on Monday, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. The interment will be at St. Philip & St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ.
