Richard M. Diefenderfer, 89, of Northampton, PA, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. He was the husband of Muriel C. (McCafferty) Diefenderfer, together they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this past December 8, 2012. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen (Schreiber) Diefenderfer. Richard and his wife were the owners/Proprietors of the Bath Hotel for 45 years before retiring in 2005. He was a long time member of the Tavern Association; Life member of the Bath American Legion Post #470; Member of the Keystone Rod & Gun Club, Bath, PA and the E. Bath Rod & Gun Club; Former member ofthe Republican Club, Bath, PA. He served his country as Storekeeper 1st Class inthe U.S. Navy during world War II. Survivors: Surviving along with his wife Muriel are a daughter, Sharon A., wife of Guy Tamandl of Bath, PA; three grandchildren, John R. Briele, Deborah George, and Donna Pavlick; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday January 30, 2013 at the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. 18067. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 29, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday January 30, 2013 10-11 a.m. prior to the services both at the funeral home. Rev. Frances M.
