Stephen D. Able, 57, of Bethlehem, died Dec. 27 in his home. He was married to Jana (Svacek) Able for 29 years. He was principal engineer for the business development center of Ingersoll-Rand Co., Annandale, N.J. Previously, he worked in the ARO Division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., Bryan, Ohio. Prior to that, he was an engineer for Sundstrand Corp. in Arvada, Colo., for 15 years. He was a 1968 graduate of the University of Colorado, and received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Denver in 1989 and a master's degree in engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., in 1998. Born in Denver, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Joanne (Dowden) Able. He was a Navy veteran, serving as a lieutenant. Survivors: Wife; son, Nicholas of Madison, Wis.; daughter, Carrie of Durham, N.C. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem. Arrangements, Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
