Stewart W. Weiss
Stewart W. Weiss, 91, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Lehigh Center Macungie. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth J. (Troxell) Weiss. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Watres W. and Bertha M. (Zellner) Weiss. He served in the U.S. Marines during W.W.II, where he fought in the battle of Tarawa. Stewart was a member of the Marine Corp League of Bethlehem. He was a life member of the Disabled Veterans, VFW Post 2124 Allentown, and American Legion Peter Post 576 of Allentown. He was employed by Mack Trucks for 30 years retiring in 1987. He was also a bartender for the Fearless Fire Co., Mountainville Inn, Fairview Fire Co. He was a member of UAW Local 677 Allentown. He was Financial Secretary and life member of the Fearless Fire Co and life member of Mountainville Fire Co. Survivors: Daughter, Donna Jane wife of Dr. Douglas Bennett of Allentown; grandchildren, Sarah wife of Staff Sergeant Adam Aikey, and Jason Eckert; great-granddaughter Ryann Eckert; step-children, Donna Gouldner, Donald Wehr, Lee Wehr, Jodie Rosener, and Joanne Blew; brother, James Weiss; sisters, Caroline Ebert and Dorcas Heiser. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Nancy Souillard, Hoyt Weiss, Kermit Weiss, William Weiss, Kathleen Weiss, Joyce Schubert, and Mary Belles; and step son, Richard Wehr. Services: 10 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, PA 18102.
