Vincent J. Rivetti
Vincent J. Rivetti, 85 of Northampton, PA died Sunday, February 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 21, 1928 in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Piscitelli) Rivetti. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Smith) Rivetti who died in March 1988. He was a graduate Coplay High School and continued his education earning a B/S degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Lafayette College in 1961. He started his career at Bridesburg Foundry of Whitehall, PA. and worked his way to become the owner/operator of the foundry working every day for over 60 years. 2014 celebrates the 100 anniversary for the Foundry, to his workers he was affectionately known as Uncle Vinney. He was well versed and knowledgeable in all aspects of manufacturing. A very kind, generous, and caring person who will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, and the Holy Name Society of Catasauqua, PA, Through his work he was a member of the American Foundry Society, The Lehigh Valley Foundry Society, Non-Ferrous Foundry Society. A member of the Lappawinzo Fish & Game Assoc. and Life Member of Northampton Fire Co. #1 both of Northampton. He served his country as a Lance Cpl. in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing cards with friends. Survivors: A sister, Marie V. Jacoby of Northampton, PA; nephews, John and Thomas Druckenmiller and John Rivetti; nieces, Jane Deutsch, Cynthia Rivetti, and Rosie Peters; and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Pasquale Rivetti in 2012. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at St. Lawrence The Martyr Catholic Church, 2nd and Chapel Streets, North Catasauqua, PA 18032 with the Rev. Eric J. Gruber officiating. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, and Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. both at the Schisler funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow with Military Honors in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, N. Catasauqua, PA. Contributions: May be made to Northampton Food Bank C/O the funeral home.
