Clifford Woodruff stepped into the loving arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior on July 30, 2013. Memorial services were held in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 5, 2013. Clifford was born in Fisher County, Texas July 12, 1929. He was the 4th of 10 children born to John Clifford and Margaret Irene Wilson Woodruff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents and his sister, Susie Stafford. He is survived by his children: Diane Swanson, Tammy Bear, Echo Anderson, Eric Woodruff and John Eben Woodruff; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers: Jack, J.B., Wayne, Jeston and Carl Woodruff; sisters: Ruth Ferrell, Juanita Woodruff Salsich and Betty Hutcheson; numerous nieces and nephews; who all loved their Uncle Cliff. Prior to going into the service, Clifford drove a limousine for Midland Limousine Company, picking up passengers at Midland International Airport and driving them to the old Scharbauer Hotel. He was inducted into the Army on March 25, 1952, went to basic training at Ft. Bliss, Texas, service school at SWRTC Camp at San Luis Obispo, CA, then to Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, two bronze stars, UN Service Medal and the National Defense and Good Conduct Medal. After being discharged from active duty on February 25, 1954, Cliff served 8 more years in the Army Reserve under UMT and Service Act. Cliff was a hero to his children and his integrity and willingness to help others preceded him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
