Duane Snow passed away on August 31, 2014. Family services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park. Duane was born in Midland, Texas, and earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas. He worked as a social worker in Corpus Christi and El Paso, Texas. Duane fought for the rights of disabled people by ensuring that buildings were accessible and that the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act were met. Many builders and businesses fought him, but he held fast. As a result, people with disabilities in Midland have better access to many businesses and city facilities. Duane is survived by his sisters and their husbands, Rheta and Gordon Page and Vickie and John Collette; and two nieces, Keely Collette and Danielle Collette. Duane was preceded by his parents, Joe and Romona Snow. Duane was an avid football fan. He loved swimming and meeting with friends at the C.O.M. pool. He loved playing board games, music, and traveling. To Duane, life was always a precious gift. We will miss him. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.
