Max Earl Douglas, 87, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Midland. A private family Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Midland Lutheran Church. Max was born on April 19, 1925 in Athens, OH to Mary and Clifford Douglas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ohio University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from May 1942 until May 1946. He married Marilyn Dray on March 20, 1947 in Napoleon, OH. Max, known to his family as "Grandpa", loved geology, playing golf, visiting Santa Fe, fly fishing in Colorado and the U.S. Marine Corp. Above all, he was devoted to God and his family. He will be deeply missed by all. Semper Fi. Survivors include wife, Marilyn Douglas of Midland; sons, Michael Douglas and wife Deborah of Missouri City, TX, Steve Douglas and wife Mary, and Gary Douglas and wife Paula, all of Midland; daughter, Lynn Pace and husband Mark of Midland; brother, Paul Batchelder of North Canton, OH; sister, Margaret Smith of Jackson, MI; grandchildren, Julie Brunson and husband Phillip of Houston, TX, Douglas Prieto and wife Natalie of Midland, Diana Blake and husband Spencer of Denver, CO, Sydne Douglas of Seattle, WA, Elizabeth Gilmour and husband Jess of Midland, Emily Prieto of Denver, CO, and Jenn Offutt and husband Marshall of Nashville, TN; great grand- children, Joshua Brunson, Peyton Prieto, and Ellie Blake; and beloved dog, Dixie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marion Douglas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to Midland Memorial Foundation, 400 Rosalind Redfern Grover Parkway, Midland, Texas 79701; Hospice Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702; Midland Lutheran Church, 2705 W Michigan Ave, Midland, TX 79701; or a .
