Reynolds, Ga.- Bobby R. "B.R." Dent, Jr., 89, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Heart of Ga. Hospice Inpatient Center in Perry, Ga.
B.R. was born on April 14, 1925 in Garden Valley, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the Pacific during WWII in the United States Navy aboard the LST915 as a coxswain. B.R. retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base after thirty-one years of service. After his retirement from civil service, B.R. became Chief with the Potterville Fire Department and worked part-time for Goddard Funeral Home. He called First Baptist in Reynolds his church home.
His parents, Bobby R. Dent, Sr. and Elma Raburn Dent, preceded him in death.
B.R.'s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Leila J. Dent of Reynolds; sons, Sammy E. Dent (Mary) of Perry and Danny J. Dent (Mary) of Reynolds; grandchildren, Amanda McKleroy (Kris) of Kathleen and Bryan Dent (Tonya) of Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Madison and Savannah McKleroy and Jackson and Sealy Dent; sister, Nora Crummey of Reynolds; and a number of adoring nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, in Reynolds, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
