Macon, GA- Charles Benjamin Johnson, MSgt., USAF(Ret.), 80 went home to be with his Heavenly Father, July 24, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Charles was born on September 6, 1932 to the late Rev. Bennie and Annie Bell Johnson in Macon Georgia. He was educated in the Bibb County School System and later enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. He later retired from Civil Service at Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a dedicated volunteer with the Macon-Bibb County Meals on Wheels. Survivors: wife; Lettie Marcus Johnson, 5 children; Cheryl(Rickey)Moore[ Warner Robins GA], Lori Johnson[Augusta GA], Col.(Ret)David(Bridgette)Johnson[Bowie MD], Major Mark(Theresa)Johnson[Ramstein Air Base, Germany], Lieutenent Colonel Jeffery(Angela)Johnson[Ft. Walton Beach FLA], 8 grandchildren; Ariel, Jordan, Benjamin, Camille, Jessica, Olivia, Lexy, Chase, 2 sisters; Virginia Johnson(John)Thomas, Betty Johnson Tolbert, mother-in-law; Lillian Oliver, 3 sisters-in-law; Dorothy(George)Mathis, Johnnie Mae Davis, Renee Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 29, 2013 @ 10:00am @ Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Visitation: Sunday, July 28, 2013 @ Bentley's Funeral Home from 6:30-7:30pm. Rev. Henry C. Ficklin will officiate. Flowers appreciated , however; the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Macon-Bibb County, P. O. Box 6333, Macon GA 31208 or Mount Vernon Baptist Church Food Bank, 737 Pansy Ave. Macon GA 31204. Services entrusted to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon.
