Haskell Arthell Fortson
January 31, 1937 - March 20, 2014
Warner Robins, GA- Haskell Arthell Fortson, 77, entered into rest on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Haskell was born on January 31, 1937 in Albertville, Alabama to the late Jesse A. Fortson and Ovell Cochran Fortson. He was of the Baptist faith. Haskell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and in the Air National Guard. After many years of faithful employment, Haskell retired from the Macon Telegraph in 2007, where he worked as a Mailer. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid NASCAR fan. His parents and three siblings, Vandall Fortson, Burland Keith Fortson, and Cletta Phillips, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Lynda "Becky" Fortson, Warner Robins; children, Robert Fortson, San Diego; Joe Fortson (Jeanne); Karen Jerkins (Gary), all of Warner Robins; Jim Fortson (Judy) Winter Haven, Florida; David Fortson, Appling; Amy Thomas; and Troy Tollett, all of Warner Robins; siblings, Betty Chitty-Lloyd, Eatonton; Michael Fortson, Byron; Billy Fortson, Fort Valley; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, March 21, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
