Horace T. Barfield

Fort Valley, GA- Horace Turner Barfield, 66, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
Mr. Barfield was born on May 14, 1947 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Leon Edward Barfield, Sr. and Estelle Watson Barfield. He was of the Christian faith. Horace retired from Georgia Power where he worked as a Truck Driver and a Lineman. With pride and honor, Horace served his country in the United States Army. He was a former employee of The Keebler Company and a former Macon Police Officer. He was also Public Relations Manager for the band, To The Maxx. Horace was an incredible handyman; known to many as Mr. Fix It. He had a loving, caring disposition and was an American Red Cross Super Donor. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and archery.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of nine years, Jolene Angela Barfield, Fort Valley; daughter, Nicki Cameron, Macon; son and daughter in law, Kyle Barfield (Eve) Savannah; brother and sister in law, Leon Barfield, Jr. (Myra), Dry Branch; sister and brother in law, Melissa Anderson (Steve), Gastonia, North Carolina; grandchildren, Ma-Shay and Ma-Kenna Cameron, both of Macon; several nieces and nephews, special nephew and caregiver, Lee Barfield, Fort Valley; and his fur babies, Rusty and Molly.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Ever Care Hospice, 4875 Riverside Drive Suite 104, Macon, Georgia 31210 or in honor of Horace, a blood donation to the American Red Cross.
