Dr. Leigh Melton Strozier
August 30, 1937 - January 14, 2014
Arcadia, FL- Leigh M. Strozier, 76, passed away January 14, 2014 in Arcadia, Florida. Leigh was born in Macon, Georgia to Robert and Eunice Melton Strozier. She graduated from the University of Georgia, School of Veterinary Medicine. Leigh taught veterinary medicine and did research at Emory, UGA, and was a practicing veterinarian and Professor of Research Pathology in the Caribbean Island of St. Kitt. She also served as an officer in the US Navy and was the Commanding Officer of the USN Key West station during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Leigh is survived by her brother, Alex Melton Strozier, Sr. (Maudie) of Macon, Georgia. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Robert Strozier, Jr. (Alice); and her sister Bessie Strozier Johnson.
