SHELBY: Blaine Armitage, age 38, resident of Shelby died Friday July 19, 2014 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after a courageous 14 year battle with the antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
Born December 6, 1975 in Willard he had been a resident of Willard for many years moving to Shelby in 1998. He was a 1994 graduate of Willard High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He was formerly employed with CSX Transportation in Willard and was a former member of the Shelby Moose Lodge.
Blaine was a loving husband and wonderful dad. He truly enjoyed the outdoors whether he was hunting, gardening, landscaping or walking his two beagles in the woods to kick up rabbits.
He is survived by his wife Theresa (Short) Armitage, whom he wed July 21 of 2000; his daughter Mekeyla Ann Armitage; mother Lynn (Gary) Ousley of Willard; step-mother Kathy Armitage of Willard; two sisters Kara (Jeff) Stanfield of Mansfield, and Brook Ousley (Michael Webb) of Shelby; brother Jarrod Armitage of Willard, his grandmother Wilma Armitage of Willard; niece and nephew, Kira and Braylon Webb both of Shelby; several aunts, Vicki Hicks, Beth Rowe, Trish Gearheart, Reno Hall (Oral Oney), Kathy Hutchinson, Barb Langoehr; uncles Dennie (Deb) Armitage, Matt and Junior Spencer; sister-in-law Jan Short and friend Chad Douglas of Mansfield; brother-in-law Derek Short of Shelby; mother-in-law, Corean Short of Mansfield; father-in-law Hershel Short of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry L. Armitage, Sr. and brother Jerry L. Armitage, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby with Bishop Gregory L. Griffith officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran Burial Detail. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, July 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County at 3025 Park Ave W, Mansfield, OH 44906.
