PERRYSVILLE: Charles W. Geary, 79, formerly of Perrysville and now of Brethren Care Village, Ashland, died Tuesday December 10, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a short illness. Charles was born August 2, 1934 in Greenwich, the son of the late Byron and Lucy (Eckstein) Geary. He was a 1952 graduate of Nashville High School and a US Army veteran. Charles had lived in the Nashville-Glenmont and Perrysville areas all of his life. He began working first as a painter for Parson Painting Contractors, then worked at Briar Hill Stone Company of Glenmont, before working 28 years at Mansfield Plumbing Products, retiring in 1992. He was a member of American Legion post 257 Loudonville; VFW post 8586, Perrysville; Loudonville Eagles; and the Ashland Elks.
He is survived by 3 sons, Anthony "Tony" Geary of Glenmont, Gary (Ruth) Pollard of Lucas, and Lannie (Diane) Pollard of Ashland; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; his previous wife, Evelyn Geary of Glenmont; and his sister, Janet Shoup of Orrville; He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ruth Banks Pollard Geary; a sister, Janice Altvater, his parents, and a nephew, Bruce Shoup.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13 at 2:00pm in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE, with Nicole Wilbert, Chaplain of Brethren Care Village officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the American Legion and the VFW, will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call this evening (Thursday) from 6-8pm in the funeral home.
