David Cleburne Copper

COLUMBIA, SC: David Cleburne Copper, 88, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the C. M. Tucker Nursing Care Center in Columbia, SC.

Born April 3, 1926 in Mansfield, OH, he was the son of Harry and Lois Copper. David graduated from Mansfield Senior High School May 25, 1944 and was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater as a Pharmacist Mate second class. After the Navy David worked as a mechanical estimator for 57 years and lived in Galion, OH. David enjoyed cookouts, family get-togethers and in his downtime enjoyed Cleveland Indian baseball games.

David recently moved to be near family in South Carolina and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne (Russell) Copper; sons, Mike and Mark Copper who live in Irmo, SC also survive him; along with grandsons, David Copper, Columbus, OH and Douglas Copper, Jacksonville, FL.
